AENAON Jewellery Jewelry · Thessaloniki, Greece
Thirty-five years of silver and light
In a Thessaloniki workshop, Afroditi Goula bends, links and facets silver and gold into jewellery that has travelled from her bench to exhibitions in Munich and New York, and into shops far beyond Greece.
Some jewellers sketch first. Afroditi Goula thinks with her hands. For around 35 years she has worked precious metal at a bench in Thessaloniki, and every ring, earring, necklace and bracelet that carries the name AENAON is made by her, by hand.

A bench in Thessaloniki
AENAON is a one-woman practice in the truest sense. Afroditi lives and works in Thessaloniki, where handmade is simply a way of working, not a marketing claim. The same hands that bend the silver also set the stones and give every piece its final finish. After more than three decades at the bench, she knows exactly how far a strip of metal will bend before it resists, and how a dark oxidised surface can make a white diamond shine even brighter.
Eight collections, eight gestures
The collections carry short, physical names: Bends, Chain, Link, Polygons, Diamonds, Doublets, Facets, Pave. Read them in a row and you can almost watch her work. Metal is bent into curves, links are joined into chains, surfaces are broken into planes and polygons, stones are set edge to edge. Each name marks one gesture, followed through across rings, earrings, necklaces and bracelets until it has said everything it has to say.

What the metal holds
The base is 925 sterling silver, sometimes left bright, sometimes oxidised to a deep grey-black, sometimes plated or worked in 14K gold. Into it go brilliant-cut diamonds in white, brown and black, green tsavorites, sapphire, agate and amazonite. The palette stays disciplined: dark metal against clear stone, warm gold against cool silver. It is jewellery built to be worn daily and read closely, and it has found its way into a network of shops in Greece and abroad.

Made by one pair of hands in Thessaloniki, worn far beyond it.
