“We like to play with stereotypical male images, without neglecting the high standards men demand from their clothing.”
j’ai mal à la tête turns tailoring cloth, the kind meant for suits, into sportswear shapes: virgin wool track pants with a pressed crease, checked wool baseball jackets. Anja and Romans design it that way because menswear lets her work more freely, without weighing whether she would wear a piece herself. Anja had already run the label alone for close to three years, out of a small atelier in Pasing, before putting it on a runway in Munich in 2011, at twenty eight. Roman Dorfner joined in 2012, and the two have run it together from one Munich shop ever since.
