The decision came during a 2021 photoshoot on Kefalonia: Lena Wro would make jewellery of her own. She had worked for years as a professional model, photographed for magazine editorials and represented by London agencies. In 2024 she founded Lenae around freshwater pearls, especially the irregular baroque ones, no two alike. The modelling years gave the label a head start: she already knew the photographers, stylists and models a new brand normally has to go and find. The earrings, necklaces and cuffs come in small runs, finished by hand in London.
