“It struck me how many unnecessary chemicals are in regular skincare products — not just bad for our environment, but for our skin and our bodies too.”
Azur started because Eline could not find a soap her own skin could take, so she began making it herself and became obsessed with the craft. What grew out of that is a full range of natural body care, all of it built out from the handmade bar. She was studying molecular biology and biochemistry at the time, liked the science, found it short on creative work, and kept side projects running throughout. Friends and family got the first bars, and the response was strong enough that she set up Azur as soon as the degree was done. She no longer makes the bars herself. She plans the range, looks after the wholesale accounts and sets how everything looks.
