Kim and Mo travelled to Egypt and came back wanting to show what they had found there. ROYA now buys straight from those workshops, with no middleman. In the Fayoum oasis, artisans shape the pottery and paint it by hand. Other makers polish the alabaster for candle holders and vases, weave palm leaf into baskets, and work recycled Egyptian cotton into tea towels in small batches. Everything is made in Egypt apart from the jewellery: Kim makes that herself, by hand, in Germany. The label has been registered in Bamberg since May 2023.
