“Once you're fortunate enough to have more olive oil than you need, you ought to share it with others.”
Honest Toil began by accident: when Tom's family moved to Kyparissia, on Greece's western Peloponnese, he and his partner Juli inherited a tiny olive grove neither had asked for, and the neighbours and village press taught them to harvest and press it. Tom had made films before that, Juli had worked in a gallery in Budapest. When their own trees stopped covering demand, they chose not to buy more land, instead working with the small farms around them so the income stays in the village. Tom dates the start to 2009; his brother Louis now runs the day to day orders.
