“I spent 20 years in the fashion industry searching for accessories that solve everyday problems. So I started to make them myself.”
Melanie Meyer spent more than twenty years in fashion, working as a stylist and visual merchandiser on other people's collections, most of it fast fashion, before she founded her own label in 2019, showing her first collection the following year. She named it for her initials, M and M, designs it in a small atelier in Berlin where she still makes some pieces by hand, and has the rest cut and sewn by an artisan workshop she chose herself in Braga, in northern Portugal, and visits regularly. Everything is made in short runs within the EU, from leather chosen for how it ages, and the pieces are kept deliberately minimal, quietly built to be worn more than one way.
