“I love soaps but had to see them drowning and finally dissolving in their own liquid almost every two weeks.”
It all began with a bar of soap that kept sitting in water and becoming soggy as a result. Barbara Jenner moulded a simple zigzag shape out of clay to keep the soap above the water. The bowl was transformed into scented stones, a citrus juicer with a ginger grater, wall hooks and candle holders. The items are made at the Christophorus Workshops in Fürstenwalde, a recognised workshop for people with disabilities, where over four hundred people work.
